Orbit Arts at Humboldt County Correctional Facility

Thanks to the generous contributions of a few, Orbit Arts began programming at Humboldt County Correctional Facility (HCCF) this month. We are grateful to be able to welcome a new cohort of women incarcerated at HCCF to our workshop series, which will continue through the fall. Many of the women we are working with will be waiting to hear what the next part of their journey looks like, which can include longer-term sentencing. It’s our hope to offer artistic engagement as an educational intervention and create a supportive space for reflection and personal growth.

HCCF is the primary detention center serving Humboldt County, California. It houses individuals awaiting trial as well as those serving shorter sentences. The facility is operated by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and is located in Eureka, California.
