Connecting 4 Justice

Dell’Arte’s Orbit Arts staff was grateful to be part of the 17th annual Connecting 4 Justice International Conference in Las Vegas, a gathering that brought together advocates, justice-impacted individuals, families, educators, policymakers, service providers, and community leaders for two days of shared learning and connection. Centered on the theme “Healing Inside and Out,” the conference offered thoughtful conversations and hands-on workshops exploring holistic approaches to justice and transformative change in and around the carceral system. Sessions addressed a wide range of topics, including family reunification, workforce reentry, education in corrections, mental health, and advocacy strategies.

Program Director Janessa Johnsrude attended as an invited speaker and presenter, leading Embodied Practices: Physical Theatre Tools for Trauma-Informed Facilitation. Drawing from Dell’Arte’s ensemble-based and physical theatre practices, Janessa shared adaptable tools for facilitating with care, presence, and responsiveness in justice-impacted and trauma-aware spaces. Teaching Artist Samantha Williams-Gray also attended, joining the conference in support of Dell’Arte’s participation.
