“We’re All We Need” is a documentary, created in partnership with Runaway Kite Productions, that features Dell’Arte’s Orbit Arts program participants from Pelican Bay State Prison’s 2024 B Yard theatre class. The film introduces viewers to the men in the program as they reflect on their experiences, share what’s in their hearts, and engage in the vulnerable work of artistic expression.

Together, they banded together to create a variety show for an invited audience and to facilitate a day of gathering. Working under strict constraints and with very limited resources, they shaped scenes, wrote poetry, crafted stories, and built a performance grounded in collaboration and resilience that not only celebrated imagination, but the people they have become through their lived experience of incarceration. The documentary offers a close look at the creative processes and meaningful conversations that unfold within the group.
