Our Documentary “We’re All We Need” Debuts

Thank you to everyone who attended the premiere of “We’re All We Need: Theatre At Pelican Bay” at the 2025 Baduwa’t Festival on August 1! We had a full house with folks from Project Rebound, Cal Poly Humboldt, and College of the Redwoods Pelican Bay Scholars Program joining us in the audience. This new documentary was created in partnership with Malcolm DeSoto of Runaway Kite Productions.

The documentary focuses on our fall 2024 cohort B-yard participants and gives voice to their experiences working together in the creative space to create a show called “The Variety Pack”, performed for an invited audience, and their perspectives on the humanizing impact of artistic expression.

A discussion followed the film with a feedback and comments gathered for the men featured. Feedback was taken back into the prison and shared. Thank you to all who contributed to this project and came out to watch!
